Help Us Feed Kansas City Families
Food is a central focus of MLM’s ministry because we believe “hunger is not an issue of charity. It is an issue of justice” (Jacquel Diouf, United Nations Food and Agricultural Director-General).
MLM’s food programs provide critical resources for families in the Kansas City metro area each year. In 2024, 25,720 households received food assistance through our three pantry locations in midtown KCMO, North KC, and KCK, as well as through sack lunches, Saturday Breakfast, senior commodity boxes, and the MLM Orchard & Garden.
People who cannot afford to buy food are faced with impossible trade-offs every day. In order to feed their families, many Kansas Citians must sacrifice other basic needs. Of the MLM pantry guests polled, 72% routinely choose between paying their utility bills or going to the grocery store. Many parents skip meals so that their children can eat. Your gift to support the annual “Munch Madness” food campaign each March ensures that families and children leave food insecurity behind.
